Higher League Round 13: Aktobe 2 edge MBJSM by one point

Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The most exciting game of round 13 in the Higher League took place in Alma-Ata. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 7th ranked MBJSM (1-12) to eighth ranked Aktobe 2 (1-13) 78-77 on Friday evening. Guard Nikita Fedchenko (190-4) fired 30 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Forward Ramazan Samsin (198-2) chipped in 18 points and 13 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Forward Vyacheslav Raguyev (195-93) produced a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Newly promoted Aktobe 2 maintains eighth place with 1-13 record. It was MBJSM's fourth loss in a row. They keep the seventh position with 12 games lost.
The game in Pavlodar supposed to be also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Karaganda (9-5) played at the court of 5th ranked Irtysh (7-6). Karaganda smashed Irtysh 75-46. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Irtysh. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Alexey Alyonushka (190-95) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 8 rebounds. Askar Esentaev contributed with 10 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Guard Dias Arykov (194-99) answered with 8 points and 16 rebounds for Irtysh. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Karaganda maintains fourth place with 9-5 record. Irtysh at the other side keeps the fifth position with six games lost.

In the last game of round 13 Barsy 2 was defeated by Kazygurt in Shymkent 76-67.



Kazygurt - Barsy 2 76-67

There was no surprise in Shymkent where 6th ranked Barsy 2 (4-10) was defeated by third ranked Kazygurt (10-3) 76-67. Kazygurt forced 24 Barsy 2 turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Aleksei Vereshagin (200-92) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds. Forward Nuralhan Sanaev (189-98) contributed with 13 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Five Kazygurt players scored in double figures. Forward Nikita Ridiger (194-4) answered with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds and Bogdan Rabchenyuk (186-3) added 13 points and 5 assists in the effort for Barsy 2. Barsy 2's coach Alexander Lyssyak rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Kazygurt have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Almat.Legion-2. Barsy 2 at the other side keeps the sixth position with ten games lost.

Irtysh - Karaganda 46-75

They outrebounded Irtysh 54-40 including a 41-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Alexey Alyonushka (190-95) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Askar Esentaev (197-98) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Guard Dias Arykov (194-99) answered with 8 points and 16 rebounds and Vadim Bagrov (187-0) added 10 points in the effort for Irtysh.
