Aktobe 2 - MBJSM 81-95 Higher League round 8 most important game was a victory of MBJSM over bottom-ranked Aktobe 2 95-81 on Tuesday night. MBJSM forced 19 Aktobe 2 turnovers and outrebounded them 56-40 including a 21-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Forward Vyacheslav Raguyev (195-93) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 24 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Swingman Nurzhan Zhanbyrbay (191-0) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Forward Bogdan Lashch (190-99) replied with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Karim Kavkaev (175-3) added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Aktobe 2. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. MBJSM (1-8) left bottom position moving up to seventh place. It was Aktobe 2's ninth loss in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with nine games lost. MBJSM are looking forward to face higher ranked Barsy 2 (#6) in Atyrau in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Aktobe 2 will play on the road against Irtysh in Pavlodar and hopes to get finally their first victory. Top-ranked Bars had an easy win 107-69. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Almat.Legion-2. Bars dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Almat.Legion-2's 26. Bars forced 23 Almat.Legion-2 turnovers and outrebounded them 48-25 including a 23-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Maksim Nalagov (198-94) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 47 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Artem Kozyrkin (185-98) who added 33 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 17 assists during the contest. Guard Maxim Rakovskih (188-0) responded with 23 points and center Daniel Albrant (205-98) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Almat.Legion-2's coach Vitaliy Lapchenko gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Bars have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 9-0 record. Almat.Legion-2 at the other side keeps the second place with two games lost. They share the position with Kazygurt. Bars will play against league's second-placed Kazygurt in Shymkent in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Almat.Legion-2 will play at home against Karaganda and it may be a tough game between close rivals. The winners were led by forward Alexey Alyonushka (190-95) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 29 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Ilyas Shakir (188-0) supported him with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Even 21 points and 9 rebounds by guard Ruslan Izmaylov (183-99) did not help to save the game for Irtysh. Guard Nikita Gushchin (192-91) added 8 points and 11 rebounds for the guests. Newly promoted Karaganda maintains fourth position with 6-3 record. Loser Irtysh keeps the fifth place with five games lost. Karaganda will meet higher ranked Almat.Legion-2 (#3) in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Irtysh will play against Aktobe 2 and hope to secure a win. The winners were led by guard Alymzhan Maksutov (180-94) who scored that evening 24 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Alexander Antropov (195-93) supported him with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Five Kazygurt players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 25 points and 17 rebounds by center Timur Tangiev (193-3) did not help to save the game for Barsy 2. Guard Andrey Repalov (185-3) added 13 points for the hosts. Barsy 2's coach Alexander Lyssyak rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kazygurt have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Almat.Legion-2. Barsy 2 lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with seven games lost. Kazygurt will meet at home league's leader Bars in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Barsy 2 will play against MBJSM (#7) in Alma-Ata and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
