National League Round 13: Kaspiy Aktau still not able to record any victory

Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

Bottom-ranked Kaspiy Aktau is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 13th consecutive match to fourth ranked Sinegorie K. (6-7) 87-66 on Sunday evening. Sinegorie K. made 28-of-37 free shots (75.7 percent) during the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Sinegorie K. made 19 blocks. 25 personal fouls committed by Kaspiy Aktau helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Russian guard Roman Lagutin (195-95) who helped to win the game recording 40 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds. Uzbekistani center Dmitry Sviridov (212-85) contributed with 14 points and 17 rebounds for the winners. Guard Vladimir Kurochkin (192-97) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds for Kaspiy Aktau. Sinegorie K. maintains fourth place with 6-7 record. Kaspiy Aktau at the other side still closes the standings with 13 games lost. Sinegorie K. are looking forward to face higher ranked Barsy Atyrau (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kaspiy Aktau will have a break next round.
The game in Aktobe was also worth to mention about. Third ranked Tobol (11-4) played at the court of 5th ranked Aktobe (3-14). Tobol did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 99-81. International forward Anton Bykov (200-89) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 18 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners and Maxim Voeikov chipped in 25 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 blocks. Tobol's coach Aleksandr Derbush allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side Russian Vladislav Gusak (202-95) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks. Tobol moved-up to second place. Newly promoted Aktobe keeps the fifth position with 14 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.



Aktobe - Tobol 81-99

The game in Aktobe was also worth to mention about. Third ranked Tobol (11-4) played at the court of 5th ranked Aktobe (3-14). Tobol did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 99-81. Tobol outrebounded Aktobe 49-29 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. Tobol brought some defensive toughness making 28 blocks. Aktobe was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch.
