Astana keeps Maidekin for another season

Defending champion BK Astana (National League) re-signed 22-year old international forward Askar Maidekin (203-97). He played there last season. But in two VTB United League games he averaged just 1.0ppg and 1.0apg.
Maidekin's team won Kazakhstan Cup.
The previous (17-18) season Maidekin played at Barsy Atyrau where in 31 National League games he had 5.1ppg and 2.7rpg (leader !!!). He helped them to make it to both league and Cup finals after they ended regular season as second best team. Maidekin also played 12 games in Baltic League where he recorded 3.4ppg and 2.9rpg. The other team Maidekin played that season for was Barsy. In 15 BBBL games he got 14.3ppg, 9.2rpg (leader !!!), 1.3apg and 1.5bpg.
Among other achievements he received Eurobasket.com All-EYBL U20 2nd Team award in 2018.
Maidekin has been a member of Kazakhstan international program for some years. He has been regularly called to Kazakhstan senior team since 2016 and for U22 National Team last year.
