Alishauskaite named MVP of the Season - Apr 29, 2010

Anastassiya Alishauskaite (170-G-88) named MVP of the Season in the country as she triumphed with the Tigers. She helped the winners to sweep the Final series and celebrated with Astana. From 2007 she tries hard in her team in the national league and participated also in Baltic League. In 2008 and 2009 she became Kazakhstan League Champion, clinched Kazakhstan League Point Guard of the Year in 2008 and 2009, was also Kazakhstan League Player of the Year last year. Over the last two years she is a member of the Kazakhstan National Team. In the last Asian Championships in Chennai (India) after 5 games she averaged 11.2ppg, 4.6rpg, Assists-5 (3.6apg), FGP: 26.5%, 3PT: 33.3%, FT-2 (91.7%).
Maria Malynovska (188-F-83) from Astana Tigers became the newcomer of the year. The Ukrainian player was another player to bring her achievement into the trophy. Last seasons Maria played in Ukraine for Olimp-NAEK, while last season joined the team from Kazakhstan.Their teammate Rufina Gavrilyuk (176-F-86) got Fair Play award.
Anna Pokoiova (188-F-87, agency: Promotex) and Ganna Zarytska (182-F-86, agency: Data Plus Group) became the best Forwards of the year. Both players joined the team in the end of the season as they started it for Hatis Yerevan (Armenia). Ganna appeared in EuroCup 8 games and averaged 13.0ppg, 7.3rpg, 1.1apg, 1.1spg, FGP: 33.9%, 3PT: 37.3%, FT: 60.0%. Hatis had a great season abroad.



Astana clinch the title - Apr 27, 2010

Astana Tigers became the Winner of the Play-offs sweeping the Final series. Three games were enough to prove the difference over Okzhetpes. Eurobasket wrote that Astana won the Final opener 69:53, while last night the Tigers added easy 82:69 win for 2-0 in the series. Tonight the game became the most intersting as they rolled over the opponents 62:60 due to the last minutes of the game. The Tigers triumph in the country, while Okzhetpes is second. Irtysh won the third place as they swept the series over Taraz.



Irtysh take the Cup - Dec 14, 2009

Irtysh claimed the Kazakh Cup title. They outgunned Astana Tigers 59:48 in the title decider. Irtysh grabbed the lead right from the start of the game. The Pavlograd team fired 21 points in the opening stanza to lead by 9 points at the first intermission. Astana cut the distance at 6 points at halftime. But the third quarter gave another boost for Irtysh. They outscored the Tigers by 6 points to balloon the gap to 12 points with one quarter remaining. The Astana Tigers tried hard to restore the intrigue but they scored just 10 points in the final quarter and had to surrender at the end.
Nadezhda Kondrakova managed 13 points and 12 boards to pace Irtysh to the big success. Veronika Volikova (182-F-77) tallied 12 points and 11 boards in the win. Anastassiya Alishauskaite (170-G-88) replied with 17 points and 12 assists for the Tigers. Natalya Kuzmicheva (192-F/C-76) and Maria Malynovska (188-F-83) had 10 points apiece in defeat.
Taraz occupied the third position rallying past KODYUSHOR Astana. Tamara Seregina (182-F-90) exploded with 27 points to lead Taraz to an 81:65 victory.
