American Center Grant Jerrett (208-C-1993) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for top-ranked Link Tochigi Brex Utsunomiya, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 58.
The 32-year old player had a double-double of 26 points and 12 rebounds, while his team crushed Nagoya DD (#3, 41-17) with 16-point margin 90-74. It allowed Tochigi Brex to consolidate first place in the Japanese B1 League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Tochigi Brex has a very solid 44-14 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. In the team's last game Jerrett had a remarkable 70.0% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Tochigi Brex, through which he has constantly improved. Grant Jerrett averages this season 12.6ppg and 5.6rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was young German Johannes Thiemann (206-PF-1994) of league's second-best Gunma Crane Thunders. Thiemann had a very good evening with 28 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Thunders was edged by the lower-ranked Hokkaido L. (#5, 36-22) 83-81. Gunma CT managed to keep the same second spot in East. His team's 40-18 record is not bad at all. Thiemann is well-known at Gunma CT and is a proven leader in his second season with the team.

Third on the list of top players last round was Australian forward Nick Kay (206-PF-1992) of Shimane Susanoo Magic (#8). Kay showcased his all-around game by recording 17 points, 13 rebounds (!!!) and 6 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Magic, leading his team to a 81-69 win against the lower-ranked Ibaraki R. (#11, 17-41). The chances of Shimane SM ranking at the top of East, however are very questionable as they have already lost 31 games, recording just twenty seven victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Kay could help Shimane SM to bring them higher in the standings. Kay has a very solid season. In 58 games in Japan he scored 16.4ppg. He also has 8.9rpg, 3.4apg and a FGP of 64.1%.
