Syrian-American Guard Trey Kell III (193-G-1996, agency: Slash Sports) had a very impressive game in the last round for Toyama Grouses, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 55.
The 29-year old player had a double-double of 37 points and 12 rebounds, while his team edged out Sendai 89ers (#6, 33-22) 92-89. Grouses maintains the 13th position in their group in the Japanese B1 League. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 41 games and recorded just fourteen victories. In the team's last game Kell III had a remarkable seven three-pointers out of 9 attempts. He turned to be Grouses's top player in his first season with the team. Former San Diego State University star has very solid stats this year. Kell III is in league's top in points (2nd best: 22.8ppg) and averages impressive 51.4% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Christopher Smith (193-G-1994) of Hiroshima Dragonflies. Smith had a very good evening with a double-double of 25 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Dragonflies was edged by slightly lower-ranked Shimane SM (#8, 26-29) 73-72. Hiroshima D. managed to keep the same 6th spot in West. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 30-25 record is not bad and everything may still change. Smith is a newcomer at Hiroshima D., but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.3ppg (#8). He also registered 4.7 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was Cuban guard Reynaldo Garcia (187-G-1990) of Saga Ballooners (#7). Garcia showcased his all-around game by recording 27 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Ballooners, leading his team to a 103-68 easy win against the lower-ranked FE Nagoya (#12, 17-38). Saga B. needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams in West. Their record at this point is 29 victories and 26 lost games. Garcia has a very solid season. In 23 games in Japan he scored 14.9ppg. He also has 5.7rpg, 3.7apg, 2.0spg and a FGP of 61.2%.
