The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Five Arrows (42-8) in Ishikawa on Sunday night. Visitors were rolled over by ninth ranked Samuraiz (26-24) 94-64. It ended at the same time the 26-game winning streak of Five Arrows. Kanazawa dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Five Arrows's 26. Kanazawa outrebounded Kagawa 47-33 including a 35-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Kanazawa looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Kagawa's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Kanazawa made 7 blocks. 25 personal fouls committed by Kagawa helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Dutch forward Jediael Cordilia (206-2002, college: Mt.St.Mary's) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). American forward KJ Allen (198-2000, college: Portland St.) contributed with 19 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. point guard Hajime Imabayashi (184-1999) answered with 20 points for Kagawa. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kanazawa moved-up to eighth place.
