American Power forward Tavrion Dawson (202-F/C-1996, agency: One Motive Sports) had an amazing evening in the last round for second-ranked Tokushima Gambarous, receiving a Hoops Agents B3 League Player of the Week award for round 51.
The 29-year old player was the main contributor (30 points, six rebounds and two assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Saitama (#3, 38-12) 80-69. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Gambarous is placed at 2nd position in Japanese B3 League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Tokushima Gam. will need more victories to improve their 38-10 record. In the team's last game Dawson had a remarkable 72.7% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 9 attempts. He has many years of experience at Gambarous, through which he has constantly improved. Former California State University Northridge star has very solid stats this year. Dawson is in league's top in points (3rd best: 20.9ppg) and averages impressive 62.5% FGP and 41.2% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Eugene Phelps (198-F-1990) of Niigata Albirex. Phelps had a very good evening with 25 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Albirex lost that game 64-74 to the lower-ranked Shinagawa (#14, 11-37). Niigata A. managed to keep the same 5th spot in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 29-19 record is not bad and everything may still change. Phelps is a newcomer at Niigata A., but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Kennedy Meeks (208-F-1995) of Saitama Broncos (#3). Meeks scored 20 points and grabbed 15 rebounds (!!!). Despite Meeks' great performance the Broncos lost 69-80 to #2 ranked Tokushima Gam.. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Saitama needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 38 victories and 12 lost games. Meeks has a great season in Japan. After 26 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.5ppg (7th best) and rebounds with 9.5rpg (7th best). He also has 1.0bpg and a FGP of 55.2%.
