B1 League top team - Tochigi Brex (37-12) managed to deliver another win on Sunday. This time they beat eleventh ranked Hannaryz (16-33) 89-77. Tochigi Brex looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Center Grant Jerrett (208-1993, college: Arizona) fired 29 points for the winners. Guard DJ Newbill (193-1992, college: Penn State) chipped in 23 points. Center Charles Jackson (208-1993, college: Tenn Tech) produced 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and power forward Jordan Heath (208-1991, college: Canisius, agency: Octagon Europe) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Kyoto H. players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Tochigi Brex. Defending champion maintains first place with 37-12 record. Loser Hannaryz dropped to the tenth position with 33 games lost. They share it with FE Nagoya and Chiba. Tochigi Brex will meet at home Alvark Tokyo (#4) in the next round. Kyoto H. will play against the league's second-placed Nagoya DD (#2) and hope to secure a win.
