American Shooting guard Rawle Alkins (197-SG-1997) put on an amazing game in the last round for Kumamoto Volters, receiving a Hoops Agents B2 League Player of the Week award for round 52.
The 28-year old player was the main contributor (23 points, five rebounds and five assists) to his team's victory, helping them to edge out Fukuoka R. (#5, 20-30) 82-80. Volters maintains the 3rd position in their group in the Japanese B2 League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Kumamoto V. will need more victories to improve their 33-19 record. In the team's last game Alkins had a remarkable 70.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Volters's top player in his first season with the team. Former University of Arizona star has very solid stats this year. Alkins is in league's top in assists (2nd best: 5.7apg) and averages impressive 51.4% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Australian Angus Brandt (208-C-1989) of Shizuoka Veltex. Brandt had a very good evening with a double-double of 20 points and 11 rebounds. It was enough for Veltex to edge the higher-ranked Ehime OV (#2, 35-17) 89-88. Shizuoka's 7th position in West has not changed. 38 lost games are too many comparing to just fourteen victories Veltex managed to get this year. Brandt is well-known at Shizuoka and is a proven leader in his second season with the team.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Yoeli Childs (203-PF-1998) of league's top team Kobe Storks. Childs scored 22 points and grabbed 19 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Storks, leading his team to a 98-62 easy win against the lower-ranked Bambitious N. (#6, 15-37). Many experts and fans count Kobe S. as a contender for championship title. Another victory and another confirmation that they may be right. Just look at their record: 47 victories and only five lost games. They are currently at the very top of the standings in West. Childs has a great season in Japan. After 52 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.9ppg (3rd best) and rebounds with 11.4rpg (#1 in league).
