American Forward Yante Maten (201-F-1996) had an amazing evening in the last round for San-en NeoPhoenix, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 46.
The 29-year old player was the main contributor (28 points, four rebounds and five assists) to his team's victory, helping them to edge out Alvark Tokyo (#4, 30-16) 98-94. NeoPhoenix maintains the 6th position in their group in the Japanese B1 League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. San-en NP will need more victories to improve their 27-19 record. In the team's last game Maten had a remarkable 62.5% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at NeoPhoenix, through which he has constantly improved. Former University of Georgia star has very solid stats this year. Maten is in league's top in points (6th best: 19.7ppg) and averages impressive 1.1bpg and 60.0% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Dwayne Evans (201-F-1992, agency: Pensack Sports) of Hiroshima Dragonflies. Evans had a very good evening with 33 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course he led Dragonflies to another comfortable win 94-79 over the lower-ranked Osaka E. (#9, 18-28) being unquestionably team leader. Hiroshima D.'s 5th position in West has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 27-19 record is not bad and everything may still change. Evans is one of the most experienced players at Hiroshima D. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was Italian forward Angelo Caloiaro (203-F-1989, agency: Pensack Sports) of Kyoto Hannaryz (#12). Caloiaro showcased his all-around game by recording 25 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Hannaryz, leading his team to a 86-63 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Akita NH (#13, 8-38). The chances of Kyoto H. not to end season at such low position in West, however are less than slim as they have already lost 31 games, recording just fifteen victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Caloiaro could try to bring Kyoto H.'s a little bit higher in the standings. Caloiaro has individually a great season in Japan. After 22 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.0ppg (5th best).
