Experienced American Jake Layman (206-F-1994) had an amazing evening in the last round for SeaHorses Mikawa and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 41.
The 31-year old forward had the game-high 27 points adding seven rebounds and three assists for Sea Horses M. in his team's victory, helping them to outclass Toyama G. (#13, 10-31) with 34-point margin 103-69. SeaHorses is placed at 3rd position in Japanese B1 League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Sea Horses M. will need more victories to improve their 28-13 record. In the team's last game Layman had a remarkable four three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He has many years of experience at SeaHorses, through which he has constantly improved. Jake Layman averages this season 14.6ppg and 6.3rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American power forward Jamorko Pickett (206-PF-1997) of Toyotsu Fighting Eagles Nagoya. Pickett impressed basketball fans with 30 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Bad luck as Fighting Eagles lost that game 69-91 to the higher-ranked San-en NP (#6, 22-19). FE Nagoya managed to keep the same 10th spot in West. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 15-26 record. Pickett is a newcomer at FE Nagoya and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Yante Maten (201-F-1996) of San-en NeoPhoenix (#6). Maten scored 24 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. He was a key player of NeoPhoenix, leading his team to a 91-69 easy win against the lower-ranked FE Nagoya (#10, 15-26). San-en NP needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams in West. Their record at this point is 22 victories and 19 lost games. Maten has a great season in Japan. After 18 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.7ppg (8th best). He also has 1.2bpg and a FGP of 59.5%.

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
