Egyptian-American Center Patrick Gardner (211-C-1999) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked Fukushima Firebonds, receiving a Hoops Agents B2 League Player of the Week award for round 43.
The 26-year old player had a double-double of 34 points and 10 rebounds, while his team edged out Ehime OV (#2, 28-16) 83-80. Firebonds maintains the 2nd position in their group in the Japanese B2 League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Fukushima will need more victories to improve their 33-11 record. In the team's last game Gardner had a remarkable eight three-pointers out of 11 attempts. He turned to be Firebonds's top player in his first season with the team. Patrick Gardner averages this season 16.9ppg and 7.2rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Yoeli Childs (203-PF-1998) of league's leader Kobe Storks. Childs had a very good evening with a double-double of 25 points and 13 rebounds. It was enough for Storks to edge the lower-ranked Kagoshima (#4, 23-20) 86-81. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in West. Kobe S. consolidated its place in the very top position of the standings. His team lost just five games this season, while they won 39 matches. Childs is a newcomer at Kobe S., but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.9ppg (#4). His other stats are also decent: 11.2rpg and 3.1apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Elyjah Williams (201-F-1998) of Yokohama Excellence (#3). Williams showcased his all-around game by recording 23 points, 12 rebounds (!!!) and 7 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Excellence, leading his team to a 84-71 easy win against the lower-ranked Shizuoka (#7, 9-35). Yokohama needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams in West. Their record at this point is 28 victories and 15 lost games. Williams has a very solid season. In 39 games in Japan he scored 13.8ppg. He also has 8.5rpg, 4.2apg and a FGP of 59.9%.
