Spanish Power forward Sebastian Saiz (205-PF-1994) had a very impressive game in the last round for second-ranked Alvark Tokyo, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 40.
The 31-year old player was the main contributor (24 points, eight rebounds) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Nagasaki (#1, 33-8) 93-78. Alvark maintains the 2nd position in their group in the Japanese B1 League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Alvark Tokyo will need more victories to improve their 29-12 record. In the team's last game Saiz had a remarkable 60.0% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Alvark, through which he has constantly improved. Sebastian Saiz averages this season 17.6ppg and 7.0rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Eric Jacobsen (208-PF-1994) of Cyberdyne Ibaraki Robots. Jacobsen had a very good evening with a double-double of 20 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as Robots lost that game 69-97 to the higher-ranked Nagoya DD (#2, 32-9). Ibaraki R. managed to keep the same 11th spot in West. 29 lost games are too many comparing to just twelve victories Robots managed to get this year. Jacobsen is one of the most experienced players at Ibaraki R. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American Stanley Johnson (201-SF-1996) of league's top team Nagasaki Velca. Johnson got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. He went also for seven rebounds . Despite Johnson's great performance the Velca lost 78-93 to #2 ranked Alvark Tokyo. But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. Nagasaki had another "accident". It may be a crucial game. Johnson's teammates are also very good. That's why having such high stats is even more impressive. Johnson has a great season in Japan. After 40 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 22.9ppg (3rd best).
