Australian Center Angus Brandt (208-C-1989) had a great game in the last round for Shizuoka Veltex, receiving a Hoops Agents B2 League Player of the Week award for round 39.
The 36-year old player had a double-double of 15 points and 21 rebounds, while his team beat Aomori W. (#6, 9-31) 68-58. Veltex maintains the 7th position in their group in the Japanese B2 League. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 33 games and recorded just seven victories. It's Brandt's second year at Veltex and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Former Oregon State University star has very solid stats this year. Brandt is in league's top in rebounds (6th best: 9.5rpg) and averages impressive 56.1% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Noah Waterman (211-C-2000) of Pass lab Yamagata Wyverns. Waterman had a very good evening with 32 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Wyverns lost that game 73-101 to the higher-ranked Fukui B. (#4, 23-17). This loss caused Yamagata to drop to 7th position in East. 32 lost games are too many comparing to just eight victories Wyverns managed to get this year. Waterman is a newcomer at Yamagata, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Shizuoka's star - American center Kenny Lawson (207-C-1988). Lawson scored 22 points and grabbed 12 rebounds (!!!). He was another key player of Shizuoka Veltex, helping his team with a 68-58 win against slightly higher-ranked Aomori W. (#6, 9-31). Veltex can only dream about fighting for top spots in West. They have rather bad season and 7-33 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Lawson has a very solid season. In 8 games in Japan he scored 15.5ppg. He also has 7.6rpg, 1.4bpg and a FGP of 61.7%.

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
