Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Storks (34-5) in Nagano on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Brave Warriors (31-8) 76-65. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Storks. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Shinshu made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Kobe S. helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for South Sudanese-American center Angelo Chol (206-1993, college: SDSU) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 7 rebounds. The former international guard Aki Chambers (191-1990, college: UC Merced) helped adding 11 points and 9 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American Yoeli Childs (203-1998, college: BYU) with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Brave Warriors have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Shinshu maintains first place with 31-8 record which they share with defeated Kobe S.. Kobe S. at the other side still keeps top position with five games lost. Shinshu are looking forward to face Fukuoka R. (#5) at home in the next round. Kobe S. will have a break next round.

It was an exceptional evening for American guard Tray Boyd III (193-1998, college: ETSU) who led the winners and scored 24 points and 5 rebounds. Elyjah Williams accounted for 13 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. American forward Noah Gurley (203-1999, college: Alabama) came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for Iwate in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Yokohama maintains third place with 26-13 record having five points less than leader Kobe S. Iwate lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the fifth position with 29 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

At the other side the best for losing team was Mitchell Watt who recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Kumamoto V. moved-up to third place. Loser Orange Vikings keeps the second position with 14 games lost. Kumamoto V. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ehime will play against Kumamoto V. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 39: Shizuoka won against Aomori W. on the opponent's court 68-58. Fukushima outscored Bambitious in a home game 95-59. Fukuoka R. managed to beat Kagoshima on the road 92-76. Yamagata was crushed by Fukui B. on its own court 73-101. Iwate beat Yokohama in a road game 82-78.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists by Marko Tejic of Iwate.



Yokohama EX - Iwate 79-76

Fifth-ranked Big Bulls (11-29) gave a tough game to third ranked Excellence (26-13) in Yokohama. Excellence managed to secure only three-point victory 79-76. However their fans expected easier game. Yokohama dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Big Bulls's 24. Yokohama forced 20 Iwate turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Tray Boyd III (193-1998, college: ETSU) who led the winners and scored 24 points and 5 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Elyjah Williams (201-1998, college: Northwestern) accounted for 13 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side.
