Meeks' double-double lands him B3 League Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

30-year old American forward Kennedy Meeks (208-F-1995, agency: Diamond Sports) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Saitama Broncos and receives a Hoops Agents B3 League Player of the Week award for round 38.
He had a double-double of 28 points and 10 rebounds, while his team edged out Niigata A. (#5, 21-15) 106-104. Broncos maintains the 3rd position in Japanese B3 League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Saitama will need more victories to improve their 27-9 record. In the team's last game Meeks had a remarkable 83.3% from 2-point range. He turned to be Broncos's top player in his first season with the team. University of North Carolina graduate has very impressive stats this year. Meeks is in league's top in points (8th best: 16.6ppg), rebounds (6th best: 10.5rpg) and averages solid 53.0% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Eugene Phelps (198-F-1990) of Niigata Albirex. He is American-Filipino forward in his first season at Niigata A.. In the last game Phelps recorded an impressive double-double of 30 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as Albirex was edged by slightly higher-ranked Saitama (#3, 27-9) 106-104. Niigata A. managed to keep the same 5th spot in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 21-15 record is not bad and everything may still change. Phelps is a newcomer at Niigata A. and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Rokas Gustys (206-F/C-1994) of Tachikawa Dice (#7). Gustys scored 19 points and grabbed 13 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Dice, leading his team to a 99-77 easy win against the lower-ranked Shinagawa (#14, 8-28). Tachikawa needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 19 victories and 15 lost games. Gustys has a great season in Japan. After 28 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 11.8rpg (2nd best).
