The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Toyota A. (23-5) in Kariya on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by second ranked Denso I. (18-10) 60-46. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Point guard Ami Kimura (165-1999) scored 14 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international point guard Mai Kawai (172-1996) chipped in 9 points and 5 assists during the contest. Nigerian center Amaka Okonkwo (186-2002) responded with 8 points and 12 rebounds. Toyota A.'s coach Yuko Ogami rotated eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Denso I. maintains second position with 18-10 record having five points less than leader Toyota A. Toyota A. at the other side still keeps top place with five games lost.

American power forward Ashten Prechtel (196-2001, college: Stanford) notched a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and Okoe Mominoka supported her with 11 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Even a double-double of 10 points and 15 assists by the former international point guard Rui Machida (162-1993) did not help to save the game for Fujitsu RW. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Eneos S. have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 15-13 record. Fujitsu RW lost fourth consecutive game. Defending champion keeps the third place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Sunshine R..
