American Power forward Jarrell Brantley (201-PF-1996) had a great game in the last round for top-ranked Nagasaki Velca, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 34.
The 29-year old player was the main contributor (28 points, six rebounds and four assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Hiroshima D. (#5, 19-16) 84-71. It allowed Velca to consolidate first place in the Japanese B1 League. Nagasaki have a solid 30-5 record. In the team's last game Brantley had a remarkable 80.0% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Velca, through which he has constantly improved. Jarrell Brantley averages this season 16.3ppg, 5.3rpg and 4.3apg.

The second best player in last round's games was young Italian Angelo Caloiaro (203-F-1989, agency: Pensack Sports) of Kyoto Hannaryz. Caloiaro had a very good evening with a double-double of 21 points and 15 rebounds. Bad luck as Hannaryz was edged by the higher-ranked Shimane SM (#6, 19-16) 65-64. Kyoto H. managed to keep the same 12th spot in West. 26 lost games are too many comparing to just nine victories Hannaryz managed to get this year. Caloiaro is well-known at Kyoto H. and is a proven leader in his second season with the team.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Tanner Groves (208-F/C-1999) of Saga Ballooners (#7). Groves showcased his all-around game by recording 22 points, 15 rebounds (!!!) and 4 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Ballooners, leading his team to a 83-79 win against the higher-ranked Chiba Jets (#3, 26-9). Saga B. needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams in East. Their record at this point is 19 victories and 16 lost games. Groves has a very solid season. In 30 games in Japan he scored 17.4ppg. He also has 8.6rpg, a FGP of 60.8% and 3PT: 46.8%.

The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
