32-year old American swingman Anthony Gaines Jr. (195-G/F-1993) had an amazing evening in the last round for Kagoshima Rebnise and receives a Hoops Agents B2 League Player of the Week award for round 31.
He had the game-high 29 points adding nine rebounds and four assists for Kagoshima in his team's victory, helping them to beat Ehime OV (#2, 21-11) 101-91. Rebnise maintains the 3rd position in their group in the Japanese B2 League. Kagoshima is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 16-15 record. In the team's last game Gaines Jr. had a remarkable 53.8% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He has many years of experience at Rebnise, through which he has constantly improved. Louisiana Christian University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Gaines Jr. is in league's top in points (5th best: 18.8ppg) and averages solid 56.8% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Jaemyn Brakefield (203-F-2000, agency: Slash Sports) of Bambitious Nara. He is American forward in his first season at Bambitious N.. In the last game Brakefield recorded an impressive double-double of 31 points and 12 rebounds. Of course Nara cruised to a 80-70 relatively comfortable win over slightly higher-ranked Fukuoka R. (#5, 13-19). Bambitious's 6th position in West has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 11-21 record. Brakefield is a newcomer at Bambitious and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.5ppg (#2). He also registered 7.3 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to center Patrick Gardner (211-C-1999) of league's second-best Fukushima Firebonds. Gardner scored 27 points and grabbed 13 rebounds (!!!). Despite Gardner's great performance the Firebonds lost 84-97 to #3 ranked Yokohama EX. But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Fukushima needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams in the East. Their record is 24 victories and 8 lost games. Gardner has a very solid season. In 32 games in Japan he scored 16.0ppg. He also has 6.9rpg, a FGP of 57.7% and 3PT: 40.5%.
