Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The most exciting game of round 9 in the WJBL took place in Kariya. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 3rd placed Sunshine R. (11-7) to second ranked Denso I. (13-5) 72-69 in the game for the second place. Denso I. forced 20 Sunshine R. turnovers. 29 personal fouls committed by Sunshine R. helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was who scored 19 points and 8 rebounds. Filipino power forward Jack-Danielle Animam (190-1998) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Nanako Todo who recorded 22 points and 5 rebounds. Sunshine R.'s coach Lucas Mondelo tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Denso I. have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 13-5 record having just two points less than leader Toyota A. Sunshine R. lost third consecutive game. They keep the third position with seven games lost. They share it with Fujitsu RW. Denso I. are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Haneda V. (#8) in Tokyo in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Sunshine R. will play on the road against Fujitsu RW (#3) in Kawasaki and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

It was a good game for who led her team to a victory with 18 points and 5 assists. Mai Kawai contributed with 17 points for the winners. Nanami Tsuno answered with 13 points and 6 assists for Sunshine R.Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Denso I. have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 13-5 record having just two points less than leader Toyota A. Sunshine R. lost third consecutive game. They keep the third position with seven games lost. They share it with Fujitsu RW. Denso I. will play against bottom-ranked Haneda V. Leader Toyota A. delivered the fifteenth victory on Saturday night. This time they beat 8th ranked Haneda V. (1-17) 80-73 in Nagoya. Mai Yamamoto stepped up and scored 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. The best for the losing side was Channon Fluker with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Toyota A. have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 15-3 record. Haneda V. lost sixteenth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 17 lost games. Toyota A. will meet at home Eneos S. (#5) in the next round. Haneda V. will play against the league's second-placed Denso I. and hope to win that game.

Other games of round 9 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Fujitsu RW was defeated by Chanson V-M in Shizuoka 69-62. Eneos S. smashed Aishin AW at home 70-47. Fujitsu RW won against Chanson V-M on the opponent's court 75-69. Toyota A. outscored Haneda V. in a home game 71-42. Aishin AW rolled over Eneos S. on the road 85-56.
The best stats of 9th round was 15 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists by Sayaka Okamoto of Aishin AW.

There was a minor upset in Shizuoka where 4th placed Fujitsu RW (11-7) was defeated by sixth ranked Chanson V-M (7-11) 69-62 on Saturday. Chanson V-M forced 21 Fujitsu RW turnovers. Hisane Mineharu stepped up and scored 20 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and Marvelous Nwoko chipped in 11 points and 15 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Rui Machida with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists and Yuki Miyazawa scored 9 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Chanson V-M maintains sixth place with 7-11 record. Defending champion Fujitsu RW dropped to the third position with seven games lost. They share it with Sunshine R.. Chanson V-M will meet Aishin AW (#7) in the next round. Fujitsu RW will play against Sunshine R. (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

No shocking result in a game in Kashiwa where fifth ranked Eneos S. (9-9) smashed 7th ranked Aishin AW (5-13) 70-47 on Saturday. Eneos S. held Aishin AW to an opponent 21.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 49.1 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Aishin AW 46-32 including a 31-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. American power forward Ashten Prechtel (196-2001, college: Stanford) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and Evelyn Mawuli chipped in 10 points and 8 rebounds. Four Eneos S. players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international power forward Ramu Tokashiki (193-1991) with 15 points and 5 rebounds and Sayaka Okamoto scored 13 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Eneos S. have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fifth place with 9-9 record. Aishin AW at the other side keeps the seventh position with 13 games lost. Yuki Miyazawa stepped up and scored 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and Rui Machida chipped in 2 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. The best for the losing side was American power forward Ashten Prechtel (196-2001, college: Stanford) with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds and Takano Hashikouta scored 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion moved-up to third place, which they share with Sunshine R. Chanson V-M at the other side keeps the sixth position with 11 games lost. Fujitsu RW will meet at home Sunshine R. (#4) in the next round.
