American Forward Blake Preston (206-F-2000) had a very impressive game in the last round for Gifu Swoops, receiving a Hoops Agents B3 League Player of the Week award for round 20.
The 25-year old player had a double-double of 27 points and 17 rebounds, while his team beat Kanazawa (#10, 8-12) 84-70. Swoops maintains the 8th position in Japanese B3 League. Gifu is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 11-9 record. Preston turned to be Swoops's top player in his first season with the team. Former Northwestern University star has very solid stats this year. Preston leads league in rebounds with 12.3rpg. Preston is in league's top in and averages impressive 1.2bpg and 56.1% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Andrew Fitzgerald (202-C/F-1990, agency: Octagon Europe) of Tachikawa Dice. Fitzgerald had a very good evening with a double-double of 30 points and 15 rebounds. Bad luck as Dice lost that game 93-106 to the higher-ranked Kagawa FA (#3, 14-4). Tachikawa managed to keep the same 6th spot in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 12-8 record is not bad and everything may still change. Fitzgerald is one of the most experienced players at Tachikawa and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.0ppg (#5). He also registered 6.0 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was American center Jacob Polakovich (208-C-2000) of Shanan United (#9). Polakovich scored 29 points and grabbed 15 rebounds (!!!). Despite Polakovich's great performance the United lost 87-99 to the higher-ranked Tokushima Gam. (#1, 16-4). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Shanan Utd ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 11 games, recording just nine victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Polakovich could help Shanan Utd to bring them higher in the standings. Polakovich has a great season in Japan. After 20 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.0ppg (3rd best) and rebounds with 12.1rpg (2nd best).

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
