WJBL is at the halfway of the Regular Season and there are still another 7 rounds left. Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Toyota A. (12-2) in Nagoya on Sunday night. Hosts were edged by third ranked Denso I. (10-4) 67-66. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Worth to mention a great performance of who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 8 rebounds. contributed with 9 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Amaka Okonkwo answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds for Toyota A.Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Denso I. moved-up to second place, which they share with Sunshine R. Toyota A. at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. Denso I. is looking forward to face Fujitsu RW (#4) in Kawasaki in the next round. Toyota A. will play on the road against the league's second-placed Sunshine R. in Aichi and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

At the losing side Maki Takada responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Toyota A. maintains first place with 12-2 record. Denso I. at the other side dropped to the second position with four games lost. They share it with Sunshine R.. Toyota A. will play against league's second-placed Sunshine R. in Aichi in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Denso I. will play at home against Fujitsu RW and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

It was an exceptional evening for Nanami Tsuno who led the winners and scored 12 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists. Amira Collins came up with 17 points and 7 rebounds for Aishin AW in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sunshine R. have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 10-4 record having just two points less than leader Toyota A., which they share with Denso I. Loser Aishin AW keeps the seventh position with 12 games lost. Sunshine R. will meet at home league's leader Toyota A. in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Aishin AW will play against Haneda V. (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Other games in round 7 were not that significant. Bottom-ranked Haneda V. was beaten by Chanson V-M on the road 73-68. Fujitsu RW won against Eneos S. on its own court 71-65. Bottom-ranked Haneda V. was outscored by Chanson V-M in Shizuoka 86-58. Fujitsu RW managed to beat Eneos S. at home 80-74. Sunshine R. defeated Aishin AW on the opponent's court 69-61.

Toyota A. - Denso I. 63-56

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Chanson V-M (6-8) beat bottom-ranked Haneda V. (1-13) in Shizuoka 73-68 on Saturday. Chanson V-M made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Strangely Haneda V. outrebounded Chanson V-M 62-34 including a 32-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for Minami Shirasaki who led the winners and scored 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Yurika Sato accounted for 11 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Four Chanson V-M players scored in double figures. American center Channon Fluker (193-1997, college: CSUN) came up with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 23 rebounds and the former international point guard Shiori Yasuma (162-1994) added 9 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Haneda V. in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Chanson V-M moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Eneos S. Haneda V. lost twelfth consecutive game.
