American Jacob Polakovich (208-C-2000) had a great game in the last round for Shanan United and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents B3 League Player of the Week award for round 9.
The 25-year old center had a double-double of 32 points and 14 rebounds, while his team beat Niigata A. (#9, 4-5) 74-68. United is placed at 7th position in Japanese B3 League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Shanan Utd will need more victories to improve their 5-4 record. In the team's last game Polakovich had a remarkable 77.8% from 2-point range. He turned to be United's top player in his first season with the team. University of Southern Indiana graduate has very impressive stats this year. Polakovich is in league's top in points (3rd best: 22.2ppg), rebounds (4th best: 10.8rpg) and averages solid 58.1% FGP and 47.6% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American forward Blake Preston (206-F-2000) of Gifu Swoops. Preston impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 25 points and 15 rebounds. Of course Swoops cruised to a 80-73 relatively comfortable win over the higher-ranked Saitama (#5, 6-3). This victory allowed Gifu to move up to 8th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 4-3 record is not bad and everything may still change. Preston is a newcomer at Gifu and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American LJ Peak (196-F/G-1996) of Tachikawa Dice (#6). Peak scored 27 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Despite Peak's great performance the Dice lost 87-100 to the higher-ranked Okayama (#3, 7-2). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Tachikawa needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 6 victories and 3 lost games. Peak has a great season in Japan. After only 9 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 22.3ppg (best scorer). He also has a FGP of 60.5% and 3PT: 46.0%.

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
