The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of United (0-1) in Tokyo on Saturday night. Hosts were rolled over by Five Arrows (3-0) 84-62. Kagawa made 23-of-29 free shots (79.3 percent) during the game, while Tokyo Utd only scored six points from the stripe. They outrebounded Tokyo Utd 42-25 including 29 on the defensive glass. Kagawa looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Tokyo Utd helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American forward Jacob Lampkin (206-1996, college: Alaska-Anch.) who scored 8 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import guard Tucker Haymond (195-1994, college: W.Michigan) chipped in 17 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Five Arrows will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. United will play at home against Kagawa (#1) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
