Japanese B3 League round 53 best performance: Josh Martin

American Forward Josh Martin (201-F-1995) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Veertien Mie, receiving a Hoops Agents B3 League Player of the Week award for round 53.
The 28-year old player had a double-double of 31 points and 15 rebounds, while his team beat Yokohama EX (#6, 30-22) 76-70. Veertien Mie maintains the 15th position in Japanese B3 League. Veertien Mie is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 16-36 record. In the team's last game Martin had a remarkable 78.6% from 2-point range. It's his second year at Veertien Mie and it's hard to imagine this team without him. The second best player in last round's games was young American Andrew Fitzgerald (202-C/F-1990, agency: Octagon Europe) of Tachikawa Dice. Fitzgerald had a very good evening with 33 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Bad luck as Tachikawa lost that game 90-104 to the lower-ranked Toyoda (#17, 14-36). Despite lost game Tachikawa moved up to 8th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 26-26 record is not bad and everything may still change. Fitzgerald is a newcomer at Tachikawa, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 25.7ppg (#1). He also registered 8.3 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Jacob Lampkin (206-F-1996) of Earthfriends Tokyo Z (#10). Lampkin showcased his all-around game by recording 21 points, 13 rebounds (!!!) and 5 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Earthfriends, leading his team to a 89-66 easy win against the lower-ranked Kanazawa (#18, 6-37). The chances of Tokyo Z ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 29 games, recording just twenty four victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Lampkin could help Tokyo Z to bring them higher in the standings. Lampkin has a great season in Japan. After 52 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.6rpg (6th best).
