B3 League Round 41 (Regular Season): Top-ranked Fukui B. wins another game

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

B3 League top team - Blowinds (35-3) managed to deliver another win on Sunday. This time they beat fifteenth ranked Veertien Mie (12-28) in Fukui 88-77. American players dominated the game. Center David Simon (208-1982, college: PFW) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Guard Tray Boyd III (193-1998, college: ETSU) contributed with 22 points for the winners. Guard Justin Pierce (201-1998, college: UNC, agency: Inception Sports) answered with 27 points and 7 rebounds for Veertien Mie. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Blowinds have an impressive series of twenty eight victories in a row. Newly promoted Fukui B. maintains first place with 35-3 record. Veertien Mie at the other side keeps the fifteenth position with 28 games lost. They share it with Shinagawa. Fukui B. are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Kanazawa (#18) in Ishikawa in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Veertien Mie will play on the road against Saitama and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
The game in Tachikawa was also worth to mention about. Third ranked Kagoshima (29-12) played at the court of 8th ranked Tachikawa (21-19). Kagoshima defeated Tachikawa 97-87. American swingman Anthony Gaines Jr (195-1993, college: LCU) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and Logan Routt chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Yoshiki Ametani (190-1999) responded with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Kagoshima maintains third place with 29-12 record having three points less than leader Fukui B. Tachikawa lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the eighth position with 19 games lost. Kagoshima will play against Tokyo Z (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Tachikawa will play against Tokyo Utd (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
A very close game took place in Tokyo between Swoops and United. Eleventh ranked Swoops (17-23) got a very close victory on the road over higher ranked United (22-16). Swoops managed to escape with a 1-point win 73-72 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of United. AJ Bramah nailed a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side. Michael Craig came up with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 14 rebounds for Tokyo Utd in the defeat. United's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Gifu moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Tokyo Z and Shanan Utd. Newly promoted Tokyo Utd keeps the seventh position with 16 games lost. Gifu will meet at home higher ranked Tokyo (#9) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tokyo Utd will play against Tachikawa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last two games of round 41 Shanan Utd was beaten by Tokyo Z on the road 96-93. Toyoda was destroyed by Okayama on its own court 60-84.



Tokyo Z - Shanan Utd 96-93

There was a small surprise when twelfth ranked Earthfriends (17-23) edged 10th ranked Shanan Utd (17-23) in Tokyo 96-93 on Sunday. Tokyo Z made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American forward Nick Allen (203-1997, college: UTSA, agency: Worldwide SM) nailed a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winning side and point guard Takumi Ide (174-1999) accounted for 17 points and 4 assists. Five Earthfriends players scored in double figures. Ukrainian forward Oleksandr Antypov (203-1995, agency: BIG) came up with 38 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and Lithuanian power forward Rokas Gustys (206-1994, college: Hofstra) added 16 points, 16 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for Shanan Utd in the defeat. Tokyo Z moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Gifu and Shanan Utd. Tokyo Z will meet higher ranked Kagoshima (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Shanan Utd will play against Okayama (#13) and hope to secure a win.

Very expected game when 17th ranked Scorpions (9-29) were smashed by thirteenth ranked Try Hoop (15-25) in Aichi 84-60 on Sunday. Okayama dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Scorpions's 34. Okayama had a 38-24 advantage in offensive rebounds. South Sudanese-American forward Mogga Lado (202-1995, college: Campbell, agency: AG Sports Solutions) nailed 15 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winning side and American power forward Michael Phillips (202-1990, college: Howard) accounted for 10 points and 5 rebounds. Australian center Andrew Ferguson (213-1998, college: CS Monterey) came up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds and American Daniel Laster (199-1996, college: Gardner-Webb) added 14 points respectively for Toyoda in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Okayama maintains thirteenth place with 15-25 record.
