Latvian Center Klavs Cavars (208-C-1996) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Yokohama Excellence, receiving a Hoops Agents B3 League Player of the Week award for round 38.
The 27-year old player had a double-double of 22 points and 14 rebounds, while his team beat Gifu (#10, 16-22) 90-76. Excellence is placed at 4th position in Japanese B3 League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Yokohama will need more victories to improve their 24-14 record. Cavars turned to be Excellence's top player in his first season with the team. Klavs Cavars has solid league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (8th best: 9.5rpg) and averages impressive 1.3bpg and 61.2% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Deandre Abram (203-F-1997) of Yamaguch Pats Five. Abram had a very good evening with 39 points and 8 rebounds. Bad luck as Pats Five lost that game 84-104 to the lower-ranked Toyoda (#17, 9-27). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. But Yamaguchi managed to improve slightly their position in standings taking 13th place. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 13-25 record. Abram is a newcomer at Yamaguchi, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was Guamanian guard Earnest Ross (198-G-1991, agency: Haylett Sports) of Toyoda Gosei Scorpions Aichi (#17). Ross showcased his all-around game by recording 26 points, 15 rebounds (!!!) and 4 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Scorpions, leading his team to a 104-84 easy win against the higher-ranked Yamaguchi (#13, 13-25). Toyoda can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 9-27 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Ross has individually a great season in Japan. After 36 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 22.8ppg (3rd best) and rebounds with 10.3rpg (5th best).

The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
