Andrew Fitzgerald
Experienced American Andrew Fitzgerald (202-C/F-1990, agency: Octagon Europe) had an amazing evening in the last round for Tachikawa Dice and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents B3 League Player of the Week award for round 36. The 33-year old had the game-high 30 points adding nine rebounds and seven assists for Tachikawa in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Gifu (#10, 15-21) 105-101. Tachikawa maintains the 7th position in Japanese B3 League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Tachikawa will need more victories to improve their 21-15 record. Fitzgerald turned to be Tachikawa's top player in his first season with the team. The University of Oklahoma graduate has very impressive stats this year. Fitzgerald is league's best scorer averaging so far 24.8ppg. Fitzgerald is in league's top in and averages solid 55.6% FGP.
The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American center Baylee Steele (213-C-1997, agency: One Motive Sports) of Gifu Swoops. Steele impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 37 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as Swoops was edged by the higher-ranked Tachikawa (#7, 21-15) 105-101. Gifu managed to keep the same 10th spot in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 15-21 record. Steele is a newcomer at Gifu and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.3ppg (#7). He also registered 11.4 boards per game.
The third best performed player last round was American Andrew Randall (198-F-1990) of second-ranked Kagawa Five Arrows. Randall showcased his all-around game by recording 26 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Five Arrows, leading his team to a 106-76 easy win against the lower-ranked Toyoda (#17, 8-26). Kagawa needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 27 victories and 7 lost games. Randall has a great season in Japan. After 34 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 4.4apg (9th best).
Other top performing players last week: 4. Taane Samuel (200-F-1999) of Okayama - 26 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists 5. The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
