33-year old American Andrew Fitzgerald (202-C/F-1990, agency: Octagon Europe) had an amazing evening in the last round for Tachikawa Dice and receives a Hoops Agents B3 League Player of the Week award for round 31. He had a double-double of 41 points and 20 rebounds, while his team edged out Yamaguchi (#13, 11-21) 81-78. Tachikawa maintains the 8th position in Japanese B3 League. Tachikawa is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 17-15 record. Fitzgerald turned to be Tachikawa's top player in his first season with the team. The University of Oklahoma graduate has very impressive stats this year. Fitzgerald is league's best scorer averaging so far 25.2ppg. Fitzgerald is in league's top in and averages solid 55.1% FGP.
Second best performed player last round was Rokas Gustys (206-F/C-1994) of Shanan United. He is Lithuanian forward in his first season at Shanan Utd. In the last game Gustys recorded an impressive double-double of 27 points and 18 rebounds. It was enough for Shanan Utd to edge the lower-ranked Toyoda (#17, 7-23) by 6 points 86-80. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. But Shanan Utd managed to improve slightly their position in standings taking 9th place. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 15-17 record. Gustys is a newcomer at Shanan Utd and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.
Third place about best performers goes to forward Deandre Abram (203-F-1997) of Yamaguch Pats Five (#13). Abram showcased his all-around game by recording 26 points, 17 rebounds (!!!) and 4 assists in the last round. Despite Abram's great performance the Pats Five lost 78-81 to the higher-ranked Tachikawa (#8, 17-15). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Yamaguchi not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 21 games, recording just eleven victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Abram could try to bring Yamaguchi's a little bit higher in the standings. Abram has a very solid season. In 32 games in Japan he scored 17.2ppg. He also has 7.9rpg, 1.1bpg and a FGP of 53.4%.
