Best players of Japanese B3 League round 30 (by Hoops Agents)

Tray Boyd III

American Tray Boyd III (193-G-1998) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's leader Fukui Blowinds and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents B3 League Player of the Week award for round 30.
The 25-year old guard had the game-high 28 points adding five rebounds and nine assists for Fukui B. in his team's victory, helping them to crush Saitama (#7, 17-13) with 22-point margin 105-83. It allowed Blowinds to consolidate first place in the Japanese B3 League. Fukui B. has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 27-3. In the team's last game Boyd III had a remarkable 72.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be Blowinds's top player in his first season with the team. East Tennessee State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Boyd III is in league's top in points (2nd best: 24.9ppg) and averages solid 56.3% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American center Baylee Steele (213-C-1997, agency: One Motive Sports) of Gifu Swoops. Steele impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 29 points and 16 rebounds. Of course Swoops cruised to a 89-78 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Toyoda (#17, 7-21). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. But Gifu managed to improve slightly their position in standings taking 10th place. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 13-17 record. Steele is a newcomer at Gifu and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.7ppg (#9). He also registered 11.5 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was American Jeremy Combs (201-C/F-1995) of Tokushima Gambarous (#5). Combs scored 29 points and grabbed 18 rebounds (!!!). Despite Combs' great performance the Gambarous lost 83-88 to the lower-ranked Yamaguchi (#13, 11-19). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Tokushima Gam. needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 20 victories and 10 lost games. Combs has a very solid season. In 30 games in Japan he scored 18.7ppg. He also has 8.3rpg and a FGP of 67.3%.
