B3 League Round 30 (Regular Season): Kagoshima beat Yokohama in the most crucial game of the week

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Yokohama. Third ranked Kagoshima faced 4th ranked Excellence. Guests from Renova (23-7) smashed host Excellence (20-10) 98-58. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Excellence. Kagoshima made 28-of-35 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game, while Yokohama only scored six points from the stripe. They outrebounded Yokohama 40-20 including a 29-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Kagoshima looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. 32 personal fouls committed by Yokohama helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American Kyle Richardson (200-1991, college: Portland St.) who scored 21 points and 5 rebounds. The other American import swingman Anthony Gaines Jr (195-1993, college: LCU) chipped in 7 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. At the other side the best for losing team was Latvian center Klavs Cavars (208-1996) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kagoshima moved-up to second place. Yokohama at the other side keeps the fourth position with ten games lost. They share it with Tokushima Gam.. Kagoshima are looking forward to face Tokyo (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Yokohama will have a break next round.
Leader Blowinds delivered the twenty seventh victory. This time they crushed 7th ranked Broncos (17-13) 105-83 in Fukui. The game was dominated by American players. It was a good game for guard Tray Boyd III (193-1998, college: ETSU) who led his team to a victory with 28 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). Perry Ellis contributed with 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Forward Jordan Faison (201-1994, college: CPP) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists for Saitama. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Blowinds (27-3) have an impressive 20-game winning streak. Newly promoted Fukui B. maintains first position. Saitama lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 13 games lost. Fukui B. will play against bottom-ranked Kanazawa (#18) in Ishikawa in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Saitama will play on the road against Gifu (#10) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
We should mention about the upset which took place in Yamaguchi, where higher ranked Gambarous (20-10) lost to thirteenth ranked Pats Five (11-19) in a road game 83-88 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Gambarous. The game was also dominated by American players. Jelan-Miguel Kendrick scored 12 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners. The best for the losing side was Jeremy Combs with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 18 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Yamaguchi maintains thirteenth position with 11-19 record. Loser Gambarous dropped to the fourth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Yokohama. Yamaguchi will meet at home higher ranked Tachikawa (#8) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Tokushima Gam. will play against Shinagawa (#16) and hope to secure a win.

Rest of the games of round 30 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Gifu defeated Toyoda in a road game 89-78. Tachikawa beat Shinagawa at home 89-76. Shanan Utd won against Veertien Mie on the opponent's court 79-68.

There was no surprise in Aichi where 17th ranked Scorpions (7-21) were defeated by eleventh ranked Swoops (13-17) 89-78 on Sunday. Gifu dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Scorpions's 40. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Gifu made 7 blocks. American center Baylee Steele (213-1997, college: Duquesne, agency: One Motive Sports) had a double-double by scoring 29 points and 16 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) to lead the charge for the winners and American-Dominican forward AJ Bramah (201-1999, college: Nevada) chipped in 19 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Guamanian-American guard Earnest Ross (198-1991, college: Missouri, agency: Haylett Sports) with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds and American Daniel Laster (199-1996, college: Gardner-Webb) scored 15 points.
