American Center C.J. Gettys (213-C-1994, agency: Haylett Sports) had a great game in the last round for Shinagawa, receiving a Hoops Agents B3 League Player of the Week award for round 54.
The 27-year old player recorded a triple-double of 30 points adding also 18 rebounds and 11 assists, while his team beat Yamaguchi (#12, 12-38) 92-81. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Shinagawa maintains the 14th position in Japanese B3 League. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 41 games and recorded just seven victories. In the team's last game Gettys had a remarkable 80.0% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Shinagawa, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Former Rutgers University star has very solid stats this year. Gettys is in league's top in points (5th best: 19.4ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 12.4rpg), assists (3rd best: 6.0apg) and averages impressive 52.9% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Kyle Richardson (200-PF-1991) of Iwate. Richardson had a very good evening with a double-double of 28 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Iwate lost that game 87-103 to the higher-ranked Nagasaki (#1, 42-4). Iwate managed to keep the same 7th spot in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 27-20 record is not bad and everything may still change. Richardson is a newcomer at Iwate, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.0ppg (#6). He also registered 11.5 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was American center Nigel Spikes (208-C-1989) of Aisin AW (#5). Spikes scored 17 points and grabbed fifteen rebounds (!!!). Despite Spikes' great performance Aisin AW lost 77-90 to slightly higher-ranked Kagoshima (#3, 34-11). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Aisin AW needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 30 victories and 18 lost games. Spikes has a very solid season. In 46 games in Japan he scored 11.2ppg. He also has 9.8rpg and FGP: 58.0%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Robert Sampson (203-F-1992) of Yamaguchi - 20 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists
5. Matt Bonds (196-F-1995) of Nagasaki - 26 points, 13 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Jeffrey Gibbs (188-F-1980) of Nagasaki - 22 points and 10 rebounds
7. Yuki Ide (178-PG-1996) of Yamaguchi - 18 points, 3 rebounds and 11 assists
8. Kevin Kotzur (203-F-1989) of Chiba - 17 points, 15 rebounds and 3 assists

10. Chukwudiebere Maduabum (206-F-1991) of Okayama - 15 points and 8 rebounds

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
