B3 League Round 35: Top-ranked Nagasaki wins another game

B3 League top team - Nagasaki (28-2) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed thirteenth ranked Toyoda (6-26) 90-57. They outrebounded Toyoda 48-25 including a 35-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. 26 personal fouls committed by Toyoda helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Matt Bonds (196-95, college: St.Michael's, agency: Duran International) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 18 rebounds. American-Panamanian center Javier Carter (203-91, college: USA, agency: Slash Sports) contributed with 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American guard Tucker Haymond (198-94, college: W.Michigan) answered with 21 points and 7 rebounds for Toyoda. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Nagasaki have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. Newly promoted Nagasaki maintains first place with 28-2 record. Toyoda lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 26 games lost. Nagasaki are looking forward to face Tokyo HT (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Toyoda will play against Chiba (#3) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
The game in Aichi was also worth to mention about. Third ranked Chiba (22-4) played at the court of 8th ranked Aisin AW (17-13). Chiba managed to secure a 9-point victory 77-68. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Aisin AW. American players dominated the game. It was a great evening for power forward Evan Ravenel (204-89, college: Ohio St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 10 rebounds. Kevin Kotzur helped adding 12 points and 15 rebounds. Forward Jordan Faison (201-94, college: CPP) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Aisin AW's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Chiba maintains third place with 22-4 record having ten points less than leader Nagasaki. Aisin AW at the other side keeps the eighth position with 13 games lost. Chiba will play against Toyoda (#13) in Aichi in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Aisin AW will have a break next round.

In the last game of round 35 Iwate beat Yamaguchi on the road 78-63.
The most impressive performance of 35th round was 12 points and 12 rebounds by Alex Jones of Iwate.



Aisin AW - Chiba 68-77

The game in Aichi was also worth to mention about. Third ranked Chiba (22-4) played at the court of 8th ranked Aisin AW (17-13). Chiba managed to secure a 9-point victory 77-68. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Aisin AW. Chiba made 27-of-35 charity shots (77.1 percent) during the game, while Aisin AW only scored eleven points from the stripe. Aisin AW was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American players dominated the game. No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Iwate (22-12) beat on the road 12th ranked Yamaguchi (11-23) 78-63. Iwate dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Yamaguchi's 22. American players dominated also this game. It was a great evening for power forward Alex Jones (206-87, college: Seattle) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds. Kyle Richardson (200-91, college: Portland St.) helped adding 12 points and 8 rebounds. Four Iwate players scored in double figures. Iwate's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Forward Robert Sampson (203-92, college: Georgia Tech) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and center Nicholas Evans (210-88, college: S.Indiana) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Iwate maintains fourth place with 22-12 record. Yamaguchi lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth position with 23 games lost.
