Fujitsu RW - Denso I. 75-60

Fujitsu defended their WJBL title. They held off Denso Iris in the decisive fifth game of the Finals to repeat as champions. The game was mostly controlled by Fujitsu RW. Denso I. managed to win third quarter 23-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Fujitsu RW made 25-of-31 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game. Fujitsu RW outrebounded Denso I. 49-28 including a 25-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. Point guard Riho Akagi (167-1998) stepped up and scored 23 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and the former international point guard Rui Machida (162-1993) chipped in 9 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists. The former international power forward Evelyn Mawuli (180-1995) responded with 16 points and the former international point guard Mai Kawai (171-1996) scored 15 points.

Maki Takada, 35-year old center from the Denso Iris, was honored as the Player of the Year at the Japan Basketball League. She received multiple other awards, earned the Domestic Player of the Year, Center of the Year and was named to the First Team. With Takada's excellent performance, the Denso Iris achieved the best record of the season in the league, finishing with an impressive 23 to 5 in the regular season. Takada's best performance made her team reach the finals but they unfortunately lost against the Fujitsu Red Wave 2 to 3. She was the Player of the Week honoree twice during the 24 25 campaign. With finesse and precision, Takada claimed the fourth position in points per game, delivering a stellar almost 14 points per game average. Takada also averaged over 5 rebounds per game in the league. She has totalled 8 games of 20 or more points and recorded double-doubles in 2 games on the year. Takada's 32 points against the Toyota Antelopes were the most she scored in the 24 25 season.
The standout point guard Rui Machida picked up the Guard of the Year of the championship-winning Fujitsu Red Wave. She collected multiple other honors, earned a spot in the First Team and Defensive Team. Machida's excellent performance assisted her team in beating the Denso Iris 3 to 2 in the final series. She registered almost 11 points per game that season in the league. Machida received Player of the Week award in the league. She led the W League in assists per game with over 9. Machida has totalled 3 games of 20 or more points and had double-doubles in 9 games on the year. Her 25 points against the Chanson V Magic were the most she scored in the 24 25 season.
Ramu Tokashiki, 33-year old power forward from the Aishin AW Wings, was named the Forward of the Year of Japan Basketball League. She received multiple other awards, was voted to the First Team and Defensive Team. Tokashiki's court vision propelled her to the fifth spot in rebounds per game an outstanding average of over 8. She was voted Player of the Week twice during the 24 25 campaign. Tokashiki led the W League in points per game with 15. She has totalled 4 games of 20 or more points and recorded double-doubles in 8 games on the year. Tokashiki's 29 points against the Toyota Boshoku Sunshine Rabbits were the most she scored in the 24 25 season. Among many awards Tokashiki's team made it to the Japanese WJBL Emperor's Cup final in 2024. She was also best scorer in the league last season while she had played for Seattle Storm when she scored almost 19 points per game.
Akaho Himawari, 26-year old small forward from the Denso Iris, was selected to the First Team at the Japan Basketball League. Her best performance made her team reach the finals but they unfortunately lost against the Fujitsu Red Wave 2 to 3. Himawari logged over 8 points and almost 6 rebounds per game over the season in the league. Her 19 points against the Chanson V Magic were the most she scored in the 24 25 season. Among many awards she was selected to the Asia-Basket All-FIBA Asia Cup First Team back in 2021. She was also selected to the Asia-Basket All-Japanese WJBL Second Team between 2020 and 2023. Himawari was selected as the Asia-Basket All-Japanese WJBL Honorable Mention between 2021 and 2022. She was also selected as the Japanese WJBL All-Star Game between 2019 and 2020.
The standout guard Saki Hayashi was chosen to the First Team of the championship-winning Fujitsu Red Wave. Her excellent performance assisted her team in beating the Denso Iris 3 to 2 in the final series. Hayashi averaged over 7 points per game in the league. Her 19 points against the Toyota Antelopes were the most she scored in the 24 25 season. Among many awards she was selected to the Eurobasket All-FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Ostend (Belgium) First Team back in 2020.
