Peak's 37 power sixth-seeded Tachikawa Dice to B3 title sweep over top-seeded Kagawa-May 19, 2026
Tachikawa Dice completed the ultimate upset run on Tuesday, sweeping top-seeded Kagawa Five Arrows 2-0 in the B3 Playoffs Finals with an 87-74 road victory in Game 2 at Anabuki Arena Kagawa to claim the 2025-26 B3 annual championship as the sixth seed. Playoffs MVP LJ Peak (196-F/G-1996, college: Georgetown) was simply unplayable in the clincher, pouring in 37 points on 11-of-17 from the field including a scorching 9-of-10 from two-point range with eight rebounds and 13-of-20 from the free-throw line. The B3 Best Five selection averaged 26.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.7 assists across the entire playoff run, elevating his game when the stakes were highest. Jota Machii (182-PG-1999) provided the ideal complement with 17 points (5-of-6 from two), six assists, and three steals, while Rokas Gustys (206-F/C-1994, college: Hofstra) dominated the interior with 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting and a monster 16 rebounds (nine defensive). Yuto Makanae (186-G-2001) added nine points. Tachikawa controlled the contest from start to finish, outrebounding Kagawa 44-40 and committing just 12 turnovers to the hosts' 14. Their 71.4 percent clip from two-point range (25-of-35) reflected a team attacking the paint with confidence and precision against a Kagawa side that had no answer for Peak's relentless drives. For Kagawa, Tucker Haymond (195-G-1994, college: W.Michigan) led with 15 points converting all 11 of his free throws and seven assists, while Hajime Imabayashi (184-PG-1999) had 11 with three triples. Alex Davis added seven points and nine rebounds. But the top seeds shot just 17.6 percent from three (6-of-34) across the game a catastrophic number that ensured their home-court advantage counted for nothing. The result mirrored Game 1 (86-73 Tachikawa), making the Finals a one-sided affair despite the seeding disparity. Kagawa, who dominated the regular season to earn the top seed, had no answer for Peak across either contest. Asia-Basket.com All-Japanese B3 League Awards 2026-May 27, 2026
