Al Shurtah won Iraqi League first time after 18 years! - Mar 13, 2015

Team of Al Shurtah Police, under Head Coach Maher Khanfir won their first Iraqi League since 1997!
In Semifinal series Al Shurtah was better then Al Nift in two games. They won both times. First game was finished with 78:67 for team of Maher Khanfir , while second game was won with bigger difference of points then the first one. Result of second game was 68:82 and that was enough for team Al Shurtah to qualify into Final where they played against Al Karkh, second placed team in Regular Season.
Al Shurtah wins with 2-1 in final series as this series was really intense. Point difference in this game was never bigger then 5.
In first game Al Shurtah opened series with win, it was 66:65 and Regular Season Champion secured home court as they was leading 1-0 in final series. In return match Al Karkh won the game with 75:70 and final series was tied (1-1). In last game of the season we witnessed real drama, final result of the game was 90:89 and Al Shurtah won the title!
