Yes Duhok backed to be the champion of Iraqi League again after they beat Nift Al-Janoub in the final series 2/0 the team which tried to win the league for its first time in club history .. the both teams finished the regular season with record 16W and 2L, Baghdad the capital of Iraq hosted the best of three final series .. first game finished 93/92 and second game 86/64 ..
Game 1: Duhok 93/92 Nift Al-Janoub It was one of most interesting games in Iraqi League this season, Duhok won the game in the last second by 3pts buzzer beater made by Michael Shamon (192-F-84) the turning point player in the final series, The Champ leaded the first half of game by 8pts, then expanded the gap to 15pts at the began of 4th quarter before Nift Al Janoub players risen up and leaded the game by 2pts before the end of game by 12sec !! Then Mike came with his killer 3pts shoot which given Duhok the leading in final series 1/0 .. Rashad Bell (201-F-82, college: Boston U.) was the MVP of the game with 28pts, 7rebs and 2blks and he marked 31 in effective, Jenero Gorgiss (185-G/F-82) finished the game with 15pts, 8rebs, 4ast, 3stl and he marked 28 in the effective, Qutaiba Al-Doori (198-G/F-80) scored 15pts with 7rebs, 6ast, 3stl with 15 marks in the effective, Dewayne Reed (185-PG-87, college: Auburn) scored 14pts, 3rebs, 2ast, 4stl with 12 marks in the effective, Michael Shamon scored 11pts, 4rebs with 8marks in effective, Mohammed Mahdi (202-F/C-80) added 10 points for Duhok You can find the 3pts buzzer beater of Mike Shamon in the following link
Game 2: Nift Al-Janoub 64-86 Duhok No one expected it would be easy game for Duhok specially after that excited game which held last Thursday, the first half of game finished by 1pt only for Duhok 40/39, by the end of 3rd quarter Duhok expanded the average by 12pts after Mike Shamon made 4 3pts shoots in row which finished this quarter 57/45 .. Duhok players continued controlling of the game till the end and finished it with 22pts average, the final result was 86/64 .. Dewaye Reed shined and deserved the MVP of this game after he finished with 18pts, 9rebs, 8ast, 6stl with 33marks in the effective, Rashad Bell was the best scorer in the game with 26pts, he grabbed 10rebs, and 2ast, he marked 24 in the effective, Michael Shamon made 19pts, 2rebs, 1ast with 19marks in the effective, Jenero Gorgiss did a good game with 13pts, 7rebs, 4stl with 17 marks in the effective, the Captain Qutaiba Al-Doori made 6pts and grabbed 8rebs and 2stls helped the team in controlling the game, Mohammed Mahdi and Rizan Haji added 2pts for everyone of them ..
P.S: there is no stats available from Nift Al-Janoub side, but thats not mean there is no player shined from them side, the both american players in the Sam Hoskins & Garnett Thompson did a great season beside the local players Sajad Hussein, Ali Hamad, Ali Aamer and Ali Al-Juboori Congrats the deserved title for Duhok team and Hardluck for Nift Al-Janoub
