Superleague Round 9 (Second Stage): Chemidor beat Sirjan by two after a very close game- March 7, 2022

Khouzestan - Mahram 82-87 An interesting game for Mahram (15-3) which played road game in Ahvaz against 4th placed Khouzestan (3-15). First ranked Mahram managed to get a 5-point victory 87-82. Mahram made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 23 Khouzestan turnovers. American DaJuan Summers (203-1988, college: Georgetown, agency: BIG) nailed a double-double by scoring 29 points and 14 rebounds (went 13 for 13 at the free throw line !!!) for the winning side and the former international swingman Saeid Davarpanah (190-1987, agency: Interperformances) accounted for 13 points, 5 rebounds, 12 assists and 4 steals. Arash Sabeti came up with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and Serbian center Dragan Tubak (216-1987, agency: BIG) added 12 points and 14 rebounds respectively for Khouzestan in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Mahram maintains first place with 15-3 record. Khouzestan lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the fourth position with 15 games lost. Mahram will meet at home league's second-placed Parsa in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Khouzestan will play against Kerman and it may be a tough game between close rivals. American point guard Brian Starr (190-1996, college: Towson) nailed 16 points and 6 assists for the winning side and the former international forward Navid Khajezadeh (196-1996) accounted for 17 points and 5 rebounds. Starr is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Parsa players scored in double figures. American guard Isaiah Williams (188-1995, college: Georgia St., agency: BIG) came up with 20 points and 4 assists and the former international center Asghar Kardoust (212-1986, agency: BIG) added 15 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Kerman in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Parsa. They moved-up to second place, which they share with defeated Kerman. Parsa will meet league's leader Mahram in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. The former international guard Emad Salmani (188-1990) stepped up and scored 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and Shara Zadourian chipped in 22 points. The best for the losing side was the former international guard Ehsan Dalirzahan (186-2000) with 9 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international swingman Saeid Mohammadi (187-1992) scored 11 points and 6 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Foolad maintains second place with 8-10 record having eight points less than leader Chemidor. Petty is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Four Gorgan players scored in double figures. Majid Rahimian came up with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and Vahid Eslami (197) added 15 points and 6 assists respectively for Rafsanjan in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Defending champion maintains first place with 17-3 record. Loser Rafsanjan keeps the second position with eight games lost. It was a good game for American point guard Dwight Buycks (191-1989, college: Marquette) who led his team to a victory with 26 points and 4 assists. Nigerian power forward Alade Aminu (207-1987, college: Georgia Tech) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Montenegrin-Serbian forward Nikola Dragovic (206-1987, college: UCLA, agency: BeoBasket) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and Russian guard Anton Ponkrashov (200-1986) added 12 points and 5 assists in the effort for Sirjan.
