The game between second ranked Zob Ahan (4-3) and fifth ranked Kouchin (4-3) was the most important one in the last round on Tuesday night. Zob Ahan was defeated by Kouchin in Amol 80-69. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Zob Ahan. Kouchin looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international Matin Aghajanpoor (199-1) who scored 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Jalal Aghamiri chipped in 23 points and 7 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). The former international Arsalan Kazemi (200-90, college: Oregon, agency: BIG) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the guests. Kouchin moved-up to third place, which they share with Zob Ahan and Kerman.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Kerman (4-3) against sixth ranked Khouzestan (2-1) on Tuesday night. Visiting Kerman was defeated by Khouzestan in a tough game in Ahvaz 63-69. Arash Sabeti orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points and 7 rebounds. Darington Hobson contributed with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Ukrainian center Igor Chumakov (208-90, agency: BIG) answered with 9 points and 13 rebounds for Kerman. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Khouzestan maintains sixth place with 2-1 record. Kerman at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost. They share it with Zob Ahan and Kouchin.

Gorgan - Naft Abadan 74-70

There was no surprise when 7th ranked Naft Abadan (1-5) was defeated on the road by first ranked Gorgan (6-1) 74-70 on Wednesday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Gorgan outrebounded Naft Abadan 47-34 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was a great evening for American-Guinea-Bissau point guard Perry Petty (185-88, college: UTRGV) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. International Mohammad Jamshidi (199-91, agency: BIG) helped adding 23 points and 5 rebounds. Petty is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The former international swingman Saeid Mohammadi (187-92) responded with 16 points and Mohamadreza Taghiloo scored 17 points (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Gorgan have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 6-1 record. Naft Abadan lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with five games lost.

Niroo Zamini - Sirjan 43-80

No shocking result in a game in Tehran where fifth ranked Sirjan (4-2) smashed bottom-ranked Niroo Zamini (0-7) 80-43 on Wednesday. Sirjan dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Niroo Zamini's 24. They outrebounded Niroo Zamini 53-26 including a 42-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Sirjan looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Niroo Zamini's players. It was a great evening for Montenegrin-Serbian forward Nikola Dragovic (206-87, college: UCLA, agency: BeoBasket) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds. Russian guard Anton Ponkrashov (200-86) helped adding 17 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. Guard Pouya Yakhchali (-96) responded with 9 points and Khashayar Ali-Akbari scored 7 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sirjan moved-up to second place. Loser Niroo Zamini still closes the standings with seven games lost.
