Superleague Round 15: Exxon SC edge Raad by three points

Seventh-ranked Raad (1-8) made lots of trouble for third ranked Exxon SC (6-2) in Mashhad on Friday. The visitors from Teheran managed to secure only three-point victory 61-58. However their fans expected much easier game. 27 personal fouls committed by Raad helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Croatian power forward Zoran Vrkic (203-87, agency: SDJ Sports) who scored 17 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Guard Behshad Arabzadeh (195-0) chipped in 11 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Adnan Douraghi who recorded 19 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 8 steals. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Exxon SC have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain third place with 6-2 record having four points less than leader Mahram. Raad lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with eight games lost.
The game in Mashhad was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Qazvin (5-3) played at the court of 7th ranked Raad (1-8). Qazvin defeated Raad 81-68. It was a good game for the former international guard Ehsan Dalirzahan (186-0) who led his team to a victory with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Waverly Austin contributed with 13 points, 9 rebounds and 5 blocks for the winners. N Fathi answered with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for Raad. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Qazvin maintains fourth place with 5-3 record. Raad lost their third game in a row. They keep the seventh position with eight games lost.

In the last game of round 15 Parsa was defeated by Exxon SC in Teheran 62-58.
The best stats of 15th round was 13 points and 7 assists by Amir Taherkhani of Qazvin.

Exxon SC - Parsa 62-58

There was no surprise in Teheran where 5th ranked Parsa (3-4) was defeated by third ranked Exxon SC (6-2) 62-58. They made 21-of-24 charity shots (87.5 percent) during the game. It was a good game for American point guard Corin Henry (181-88, college: Tarleton St.) who led his team to a victory with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Croatian power forward Zoran Vrkic (203-87, agency: SDJ Sports) contributed with 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Serbian guard Aleksandar Ponjavic (200-91) answered with 12 points and 8 rebounds and Serbian center Nikola Maravic (212-89) added 10 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Parsa. Four Parsa players scored in double figures. Parsa's coach Srdjan Jovanovic tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Exxon SC. They maintain third place with 6-2 record having four points less than leader Mahram. Parsa at the other side keeps the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with Bandar Abbass.

It was a good game for the former international guard Ehsan Dalirzahan (186-0) who led his team to a victory with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. American-German center Waverly Austin (211-91, college: Oregon) contributed with 13 points, 9 rebounds and 5 blocks for the winners. N Fathi answered with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Mohammadamin Kamalvand (196-98) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Raad.
