IBL Round 42: Prawira roll over Satya Wacana by 35 points- June 6, 2023
The games at this stage are more interesting as they can be crucial for the final standings in Regular Season. Despite we already know who is stronger and who is weaker, there may be still last minute surprises and upsets. What a coincidence that all visitors won their games. Evos Bogor - Dewa United 74-80 No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Dewa United (17-8) beat on the road 13th ranked Evos Bogor (6-17) 80-74. Dewa United forced 20 Evos Bogor turnovers. Evos Bogor was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. American Anthony Johnson (203-1988, college: Fairfield) had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 17 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Dominican Yeison Colome (190-1996) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Dewa United players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Andre Jackson (199-1994, college: Bowie St., agency: Elevate Sports Alliance) with 23 points and 8 rebounds and forward Cassiopeia Manuputty (179-1994) scored 21 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Dewa United moved-up to fourth place. Evos Bogor at the other side keeps the thirteenth position with 17 games lost. Dewa United will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Evos Bogor will play on the road against Pacific Caesar (#16) in Surabaya and hopes to get back on the winning track. Hangtuah was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Elijah Foster (197-1996, college: Nevada) had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international Arki Wisnu (187-1988) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) during the contest. Foster is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Satria Muda players scored in double figures. Guests from Bandung outscored Satya Wacana 80-45. They outrebounded Satya Wacana 52-24 including a 19-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for Dominican Brandone Francis (194-1994, college: Texas Tech) who led his team to a victory with 22 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. American center Jarred Shaw (211-1990, college: Utah St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Guard Maikel Baliba (188) replied with 10 points and 5 rebounds and guard Ignatio Brahmana (170) added 8 points in the effort for Satya Wacana. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Prawira maintains third position with 20-3 record having just two points less than leader Satria Muda. Satya Wacana lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth place with 20 games lost. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.
