IBL Round 12: NSH defeat Hang Tuah in the closest game of the week- April 6, 2021

Bali Utd. - Pelita Jaya 64-75 The game between Top Four teams took place in Denpasar. One of their biggest challengers host Bali Utd. (8-5) lost to first ranked Pelita Jaya (12-1) 75-64. Pelita Jaya forced 19 Bali Utd. turnovers. The best player for the winners was international center Vincent Kosasih (202-96) who had a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds. The former international guard Agassi Goantara (189-99) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. Four Pelita Jaya players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international Ponsianus Indrawan (191-85) who recorded 16 points and 8 rebounds and the former international Yerikho Tuasela (178-94) added 19 points respectively. Bali Utd.'s coach Alex Stefanovsky rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Pelita Jaya have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 12-1 record. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 6th ranked Hang Tuah (1-12) to fifth ranked NSH (3-10) 64-62 in the game for the fifth place. NSH outrebounded Hang Tuah 54-38 including 17 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of center Ruslan Ruslan (197-89) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks and the former international Rizky Effendy (186-88) who added 14 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was guard Abraham Wenas (175-96) with 15 points and Gunawan Gunawan (190-92) scored 14 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. NSH maintains fifth position with 3-10 record. Hang Tuah lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 12 games lost. NSH are looking forward to face higher ranked Bima Perkasa (#4) in Sakti in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Hang Tuah will play on the road against Pacific Caesar in Surabaya and it may be a tough game between close rivals. This time they crushed fifth ranked Satya Wacana (4-9) in Salatiga 105-69. Pelita Jaya forced 24 Satya Wacana turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a quality performance of international Muhammad Wicaksono (189-89) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 5 rebounds and the former international guard Agassi Goantara (189-99) who added 15 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Pelita Jaya players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was point guard Bryan Adha Praditya (180-98) with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds and guard Henry Lakay (196-98) scored 8 points and 9 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. (#2). Satria Muda (11-2) smashed visiting Indonesia P. (9-4) by 31 points 82-51. Satria Muda shot the lights out from three nailing 15 long-distance shots on high 55.6 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Indonesia P.'s players. The winners were led by the former international Arki Wisnu (187-88) who scored that evening 22 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and the former international Juan Kokodiputra (194-95) supported him with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Even 7 points and 9 rebounds by Dame Diagne did not help to save the game for Indonesia P.. Point guard Yesaya Michael (177-0) added 10 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Satria Muda have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 11-2 record. Indonesia P. at the other side keeps the second place with four games lost. Satria Muda will play against Bima Perkasa (#4) in Sakti in the next round.
