Archie Goodwin claims East Asia Super League Hoops Agents weekly honour

Experienced American Archie Goodwin (196-G-1994) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's leader Taipei Fubon Braves and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 1.
The 31-year old guard had the game-high 43 points adding five rebounds and six assists for Fubon Braves in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Tochigi Brex (#4, 0-1), the league's bottom-ranked team 109-107. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Thanks to this victory Fubon Braves moved-up to the 1st position in East Asia Super League. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Fubon Braves won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. In the team's last game Goodwin had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range and got five three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He turned to be Fubon Braves' top player in his first season with the team. University of Kentucky graduate has very impressive stats this year. Goodwin is league's best scorer averaging so far 43.0ppg. Goodwin is in league's top in assists (4th best: 6.0apg) and averages solid 3.0spg,66.7% FGP and 71.4% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Tongan power forward Isaac Fotu (203-PF-1993) of Link Tochigi Brex Utsunomiya. Fotu impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 27 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as Tochigi Brex was edged by Fubon Braves (1-0) 109-107. The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Fotu is one of the most experienced players at Tochigi Brex and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 27.0ppg (#4). He also registered 12.0 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was another Tochigi Brex's star - American DJ Newbill (193-G-1992). Newbill got into 30-points club by scoring 32 points in the last round. He went also for six rebounds and ten assists. Despite Newbill's great performance the Link Tochigi Brex Utsunomiya lost 107-109 to #1 ranked Fubon Braves. But his team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The season just started for Newbill as he played only first game. But it already looks like he can be another team's leader.

9. Chun-Hsiang Lu (190-C-1997) of Pilots - 24 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Jack Cooley (206-C/F-1991) of Ryukyu GK - 14 points and 14 rebounds
