Kerry Blackshear Jr. claims East Asia Super League Hoops Agents weekly honour

American Kerry Blackshear Jr. (208-F-1997) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's leader Hiroshima Dragonflies and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2.
The 27-year old forward had a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds, while his team beat HK Eastern (#4, 0-1), the league's bottom-ranked team 78-67. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Dragonflies to jump to the first place in the East Asia Super League. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Hiroshima D. won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. Blackshear Jr. has many years of experience at Dragonflies, through which he has constantly improved.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American forward DJ Kennedy (198-F-1989) of second-ranked Meralco Bolts. Kennedy impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 30 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as Bolts was edged by Ryukyu GK (1-0) 77-74. The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Kennedy is a newcomer at Meralco Bolts and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.5ppg (#4). His other stats are also decent: 10.5rpg and 4.0apg.

The third best performed player last round was American Cameron Clark (201-F-1991, agency: Slash Sports) of Hong Kong Eastern Long Lions (#4). Clark scored 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Despite Clark's great performance the HK Eastern lost 67-78 to #1 ranked Hiroshima D.. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The season just started for Clark as he played only first game. But it already looks like he can be team's leader.
