Fubon Braves land Michael Holyfield, ex Shandong

Michael Holyfield

Taipei Fubon Braves (PLeague+) signed 33-year-old American 211cm center Michael Holyfield (college: SHSU). He most recently played for Shandong Honey Badger in the Chinese NBL league, where he averaged 13.8ppg, 12.2rpg, and 1.1bpg in 28 games this season. He was named League Player of the Week during his time there. Holyfield also had a stint with Ironi Nahariya in the Israeli league.
Holyfield is a very experienced player. Thanks to pro basketball, he has experienced life in nine different countries playing on four different continents. He is familiar with European, Asian, Australian, and North American leagues. Holyfield has played professionally in Australia (Hawks), China (Guangsha Lions, Bucks, and Hunan), Greece (Ionikos), Hong Kong (HK Eastern), Israel (Maccabi Raanana, Afula, and Hapoel Hevel Modi'in), NBA (Memphis Grizzlies), Taiwan (Pauian and Lioneers), NBA G League (South Bay Lakers and Iowa Wolves), and The Basketball Tournament (Team Colorado and Choice).
Among many awards, his team won the Israeli National League Regular Season in 2025. He was selected to the Asia-Basket.com All-Taiwanese PLeague+ Honorable Mention in 2024.
He graduated from Sam Houston State University in 2015 and is currently in his eleventh season in pro basketball.
