American Guard Terquavion Smith (193-G-2002) had a very impressive game in the last round for Shenzhen Leopards, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 40.
The 23-year old player was the main contributor (36 points, eight rebounds and eight assists) to his team's victory, helping them to edge out Beijing RF (#12, 15-20) 104-103. Leopards is placed at 3rd position in Chinese CBA. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Shenzhen L. will need more victories to improve their 24-11 record. In the team's last game Smith had a remarkable 53.8% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 9 attempts. He turned to be Leopards's top player in his first season with the team. Former North Carolina State University star has very solid stats this year. Smith is in league's top in points (3rd best: 23.5ppg).

The second best player in last round's games was young American Dakari Johnson (213-C/F-1995) of Zhejiang Golden Bulls. Johnson had a very good evening with a double-double of 33 points and 21 rebounds. Of course Golden Bulls cruised to a 96-87 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Fujian S. (#15, 13-23). Zhejiang GB.'s 8th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 21-14 record is not bad and everything may still change. Johnson is a newcomer at Zhejiang GB., but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Grant Riller (189-SG-1997) of Beijing Royal Fighters (#12). Riller got into 30-points club by scoring 45 points in the last round. Despite Riller's great performance the Royal Fighters lost 103-104 to the higher-ranked Shenzhen L. (#3, 24-11). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Beijing ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 20 games, recording just fifteen victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Riller could help Beijing RF to bring them higher in the standings. Riller has a great season in China. After 31 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 23.6ppg (2nd best). He also has a FGP of 60.2% and 3PT: 44.1%.
