Jordan Mickey claims Chinese CBA Hoops Agents weekly honour

Experienced American Jordan Mickey (203-F/C-1994) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Qingdao Eagles and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 38.
The 31-year old power forward had a double-double of 28 points and 10 rebounds, while his team edged out Tianjin P. (#19, 9-25) 94-90. Thanks to this victory Eagles moved-up to the 8th position in Chinese CBA. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Qingdao E. will need more victories to improve their 20-14 record. In the team's last game Mickey had a remarkable 90.9% from 2-point range. It's his second year at Eagles and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Louisiana State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Mickey leads league in rebounds with 11.0rpg. Mickey is in league's top in and averages solid 1.9bpg and 55.6% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American forward Harry Giles III (208-F-1998) of Jiangsu Dragons Nanjing. Giles III impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 30 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as Jiangsu Dragons lost that game 92-101 to the higher-ranked Guangdong ST (#3, 23-11). Jiangsu D. is still second from the bottom in the standings. 25 lost games are too many comparing to just nine victories Jiangsu Dragons managed to get this year. Giles III is a newcomer at Jiangsu D. and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Scottie James Jr. (202-F-1996) of Tianjin Pioneers (#19). James Jr. showcased his all-around game by recording 29 points, 18 rebounds (!!!) and 4 assists in the last round. Despite James Jr.'s great performance the Pioneers lost 90-94 to the higher-ranked Qingdao E. (#8, 20-14). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Tianjin P. can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 9-25 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. James Jr. has individually a great season in China. After 34 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 10.0rpg (4th best). He also has a FGP of 56.4% and 3PT: 40.1%.
