Wigginton's 27 points and 9 assists give him Player of the Week award

27-year old Canadian guard Lindell Wigginton (185-G-1998) had an amazing evening in the last round for Guangzhou Loong Lions and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 36.
He had the game-high 27 points adding nine rebounds and nine assists for Guangzhou LL in his team's victory, helping them to crush Liaoning FL (#10, 16-15) with 16-point margin 93-77. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Loong Lions is placed at 13th position in Chinese league. Guangzhou is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 13-17 record. In the team's last game Wigginton had a remarkable 61.5% from 2-point range. He turned to be Loong Lions's top player in his first season with the team. Iowa State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Wigginton is in league's top in points (4th best: 22.6ppg).

Second best performed player last round was Quinndary Weatherspoon (190-G-1996) of Qingdao Eagles. He is American guard in his first season at Qingdao E.. In the last game Weatherspoon recorded an impressive 39 points, 4 rebounds and 7 assists. Bad luck as Eagles was edged by slightly lower-ranked Zhejiang GB. (#8, 17-14) 100-96. Qingdao E. managed to keep the same 7th spot in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 18-13 record is not bad and everything may still change. Weatherspoon is a newcomer at Qingdao E. and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.5ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 4.5rpg and 6.2apg.

Third place about best performers goes to another Guangzhou LL's star - center Xu Xin (226-C-2003). Xin scored 20 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. He was another key player of Guangzhou Loong Lions, helping his team with a 93-77 easy win against the higher-ranked Liaoning FL (#10, 16-15). The chances of Loong Lions ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 17 games, recording just thirteen victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Xin could help Guangzhou LL to bring them higher in the standings. Xin has a very solid season. In 28 games in China he scored 10.9ppg. He also has 8.0rpg, 1.9bpg and a FGP of 77.3%.
